Exploring the island requires the electric wheelchair. 


The islanders are warm, friendly and helpful, and very positive to assist if any obstacles are met. An experienced physical therapist, familiar with para- and tetraplegy and MS, is available on the island Ground floor;

Observations

Unobtrusive set up for wheelchair users. 

  • The property is completely wheelchair friendly, and has all the required facilities for the disabled, making this property an equally luxurious and comfortable home for able and disabled people. 

  • I was impressed with how easy it is to move around, no awkward corners, no little floor height changes to trip you up and wide door ways. So combined with the natural light and well proportioned room, there is a natural flow from one area to another that's really delightful. The hydraulic lift from the courtyard to the top floor, whether your a wheelchair user or not, is blended in the corner of the courtyard so you almost don't see it and quite aside from giving access, is excellent so you don't have to bounce suit cases or furniture up and down the external stairs. So I am very impressed with the thought that went into the renovation to make it accessible, not just for wheelchair users, but for supposedly able bodied people like me, who have reached an age when they don't bounce as well as they used to and will appreciate how easy it to move around.
