Approaching from the east (coming from Hydra Town), the property is on the road between Four Corners and Avlaki. Through the red door in the east boundary wall, to an attractive south-east facing garden. The house is a classic L-shape with the main entrance in the right-angle corner of the building.


The ingenious glass and stainless steel staircase, and the way the top floor has been suspended so that you can see up to the rafters, has the very pleasing effect of opening up the lower floor, making the interior light and airy.


The ground floor is essentially a long rectangle that is mainly open plan but with parts of the original solid walls acting as natural dividers, To one end, there's an intimate sitting room with a fireplace, making it a super place to be cosy in the winter too. At the opposite end of the ground floor, the dining room can easily seat eight people comfortably and features the original wall cupboards and a stone arch so you can see the length of the living space while you dine. 


The kitchen, and the first of three shower rooms, are all located along the west wall of the ground floor behind the stone dividing partial walls. The kitchen is well fitted with plenty of cupboards, including a walk-in pantry, which is where the washing machine is plumbed in. All appliances are included in the sale. 


The stairwell divides the high-ceilinged top floor into distinct areas. The glass surround of the stairs allows unhindered views along the length of the room and amplifies the light from multiple windows.


To the south-facing end, the sitting room has multiple windows overlooking the east garden, 180 degree valley views and a small balcony overlooking the west courtyard where you can check to see if it's time for a sundowner.


Along the west side of the top floor, there's the sitting room's west balcony, bedroom 2, the second of three shower rooms and bedroom 1.


Bedroom 1 opens to the other living space at the back, north-facing end of the top floor.  This part of the building is built out of the natural slope of the mountain side, as a consequence, the three back windows are on a level with the pavement along the back elevation of the building. This is a great area for additional seating, a chill out area, study or hobby area.


Opposite bedroom 1, across the chill out area, there is a landing with a windowed door that opens to external stone stairs down to the garden. 


Continuing through the hall is bedroom 3 (principal). This is the largest of the bedrooms and not only overlooks the garden, but enjoys wonderful views of the Kamini hillside from the bed. There is a covered terrace for the principal bedroom and the third shower room is on the other side of the terrace from the bedroom.


The garden is walled on three sides, with the north, single-level, house wall immediately on the street forming the back elevation. From the east garden patio area, there's a narrow path between the boundary wall and house to the west side courtyard. 


Below the patio in the east garden there is a large freshwater cisterna with the well head next to the entrance into the house. The down pipes and exchange box are in good repair and the well is fitted with a pump.
