Vlychos is a small hamlet which bustles in the summer months with full summer homes and a busy beach.
It is quieter during the off-season but still about 20% of the properties in the immediate area are occupied year around. So even in winter, there are familiar faces around.
Vlychos has two of the best and very popular restaurants on the island. The Enalion is furthest away from the apartment at the back of the beach. Marina's Taverna is closer to the apartment. You will get to know the owners of both very quickly and both will be happy to do take-away meals when you don't feel like cooking.
It's about a 30 minute walk into Hydra Harbour. Or you can catch a beach boat in summer or call a sea taxi for an exhilerating 10 minute trip to town.
Most of the supermarkets in town will organize home delivery via a sea taxi for you.
